Mediterranean Blues
Eastern Cyprus, May 2008. Protaras. #1 in the series.
It's been a week since I came back from my much needed vacation in Cyprus. For those of you that follow my flickr.com page, you've seen I've submitted several shots already from this trip.
Although I shot a lot of frames, the conditions weren't really optimal. Most of the days there were bright clear skies 24/7. One one of the days though, we experienced heavy rainshowers (first in 5 months supposedly) which gave me excellent shooting conditions down by the sea.
This particular shot is taken from a high standpoint with myself just walking in the frame, standing still for 30-40 seconds and then walking back up to the camera.
Overall, the vacation was nice. Hot and sunny
Thanks to everyone that's commented on my stuff while I was gone. Sadly I don't have the time needed to reply to all messages, but I assure you that they're all read.
Also, thanks for looking!
EDIT: The time in the exif is of course wrong. Forgot to adjust to the different time zone in camera. The correct time is 7:30:16 PM

Awesome, the person (you) gives a twist to the photo. It makes me think of the fact that we are walking this earth temporarily, but that pier will stay there for decades.

This is a great shot but I think that the ghosted image of you in the frame distracts the viewer from the overall scene. I found it really hard to take in the rest of the scene and kept looking at you. I think this is a drawback because it is such and amazing image and every part of it should be taken in.

Lovely shot mate, I like this a lot and the location looks great (you know how much I love piers)
Sadly, those clear sky weather conditions are what I can look forward to for the next 3 or 4 months of the Portuguese summer...it's just the way it is in southern Europe.
Lovely piece though, I'm off to your flikr account to see more

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
