The Magic Of November
November light at its finest... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location: Røsholmstranda, Tyrifjorden, Norway. Date: November 03rd, 2008 Light Conditions: Cloudy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Camera: Canon EOS 5D Lens: Canon EF 17-40 f/4L USM Focal Length: 22 mm Flash: -- Flash Mode: -- Shutter Speed: -- Aperture: 10.0 ISO: 100 Panorama: -- Tonemapping: Triple exposure. Tripod: Manfrotto 055PROB Tripod Head: Manfrotto 488RC2 Filters: -- Another spectacular sunset by the lake Tyrifjorden, eastern Norway. Shot only two days after my previous submission. Both night had amazing sunsets, but this one in particular was something extra special. From my flickr.com description: I can't believe how lucky I am. I was sitting at work today and noticed the light coming through the window blinds was getting better and better. Looking out, I saw the clouds were just brilliant. "This is going to be a fantastic sunset I said to a colleague of mine". He just shrugged. "You and your sunsets...". Leaving work at 4 pm I rushed to my favorite location getting there just in time. And on time I was. This is by far the greatest sunset I've ever witnessed at this location. Fantastic light which just kept on changing. It felt like the sunset would last forever (and I wish it would have). Being pretty familiar with a location allows me to work fast, which I really had to do since I wanted to get as much shots in before it was over. When it all was over, I had shot over 250 frames. The number was unusually high actually, but in addition to the light being so great, I didn't feel like I had the time to pull out my filters. Thus I had to do brackets. When working under conditions such as this you get a feeling that you are blessed. That you are lucky to experience this. Lucky to be alive. All other stuff in life suddenly becomes rather dull and unimportant. It allows you to stress down while looking at the marvels of mother earth and sky. Number two in the "November at Røsholm" series. So far I've done Nov 1st and Nov 3rd. Both with terrific results and amazing displays of light. Thank you for looking and thank you for supporting my work. PS! This is a slighly modified image of what is submitted to my flickr account. Stronger contrast. EDIT: Thanks to =alsebka for suggesting this and ^PurpelBlur for featuring it as a Daily Deviation. Much appreciated. To everyone who have commented: Thank you and I appreciate all your comments and kind words of appreciation. Thank you. - Anders -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MY WORK IS NOT STOCK AND IS COPYRIGHTED. I almost never set out to photograph a landscape, nor do I think of my camera as a means of recording a mountain or an animal unless I absolutely need a 'record shot'. My first thought is always of light. -Galen Rowell
