Terribly windy evening by a small inland lake near Harestua, Norway. The ice is still floating around in big chunks. Mid-spring 2007.
Location: Harestuvannet, Norway. Wind: Near gale. Lens: Tokina AT-X DX 12-24 f/4 PRO Filter(s): Cokin Z-Pro Z121S ND Grad.
-- I almost never set out to photograph a landscape, nor do I think of my camera as a means of recording a mountain or an animal unless I absolutely need a 'record shot'. My first thought is always of light. -Galen Rowell
Beautiful light..expecially the rim light on the edge of the boulder....great.
So it was a gale? How did the tripod manage with that?
I got my manfrotto last week. You're right, it's a beautiful looking thing, and so sturdy and solid.
I'll be taking out to the edge of Eurpe this evening....it gets pretty windy there, so it should be a fair test for it
Yeah I'd describe it as close to gale. Not quite gale though. It was hard standing up sometimes but I managed to shoot from a shielded place. This was also before I got my new tripod so I had to half handheld, half use the tripod supported by a few rocks. Thank god I didn't have to bracket this one
Beauty eh? Indeed it is. It just feels like a real thing. My old tripod felt like a toy compared to the new one.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

ashes to ashes
The composition, that rock at the bottom of the shot is great, the colours and that cheeky little strip of sun running across the sand
Well captured
